FM: Frequency Modulation

1. Electronics. frequency modulation: a method of impressing a signalon a radio carrier wave by varying the frequency of the carrier wave.

2. Radio. a system of radio broadcasting by means of frequency modulation.

AM: Amplitude Modulation

1. Electronics. amplitude modulation: a method of impressing a signalon a radio carrier wave by varying its amplitude.

2. Radio. a system of broadcasting by means of amplitude modulation.

3. of, relating to, or utilizing such a system.

FM in this instance also refers to FREE MOTUS; freedom in moving within a choreographic construct of time and space. AM in this instance also refers to ALTERED MODE whereby the roles are reversed.

Is choreography a conscious or subconscious decision?

Where is choreography in our everyday?

How has our lived experiences influenced our choreographic choices? 

The work invites the audience to participate and activate everyday movement through reactionary and spontaneous impulses. Taking audio cues through a wireless headset, the participants are asked to listen, comprehend and enact on the cues that are either directive or abstract in nature. Based on the idea of indeterminacy, this project activates and animates instinctive choreographic choices within oneself. 

Through our everyday activities and experiences, the body inherently accumulates and reproduces from our movement DNA. As a collective, their choices contribute to creating choreography from the everyday.
