Wu -

無 is a response to Justin Lee’s art installation, Game of Life. The performance work unravels the term “lack thereof”.

With the terracotta warriors fixating their eyes in battle mode, they set the backdrop imbedded with years of cultural history. One that is slowly dissipating as we advance towards an ever-changing contemporary era.

Dapheny questions the lack of cultural presence in her daily life. To be void of, to relieve oneself of, to exclude, to omit, to remove, to negate, to ignore. We are often quick to address the things we lack in a negative way, yet overlook the qualities we build on for a lack thereof.
